A Personal Update from John
As many of you know, I underwent open-heart surgery last year just before Thanksgiving to replace my aortic valve and repair an aneurysm. While at Stanford, doctors also discovered I needed emergency surgery to remove part of my ascending colon. By God's grace, both procedures were successful, and after months of recovery, I’m regaining strength and health.
I’m overjoyed to share that my cardiologist has cleared me to return to Cambodia! Linda and I plan to travel in mid-July to spend a month reconnecting with our dear friends and partners in the field. Your prayers have meant the world to us—thank you for walking this journey with me and for the many ways you’ve encouraged and supported us.
Ministry Highlights
This has been a season of incredible growth and opportunity. Our strategy to bring the Gospel to rural villages through practical, life-giving outreach is bearing fruit. Clean water wells, toilets, and sanitation systems are opening doors to share the hope of Christ while improving everyday health.
Recent Developments
New Home for Young Women in Phnom Penh
We’ve secured a property in Sen Sok to provide housing for young women from poor provinces. Construction will begin soon. This home will be a safe place for them to gain an education and job skills, and to serve in the local church. Thanks to Big Valley Grace for funding this vital project!
Expanding Children-to-School Program
Our initiative continues to grow, providing school uniforms and supplies to children in need. In a country where two-thirds of children drop out due to poverty, your support is helping open the door to education—and a better future.
Empowering the Next Generation
Through our free English and computer classes, children are gaining practical skills and confidence. These programs are more than educational—they're transformational, equipping young lives spiritually, emotionally, physically, and economically.
Meeting Essential Needs
We continue to serve families in extreme poverty with meals, basic medical care, and a tangible expression of Christ’s love. These simple acts of kindness are breaking barriers and building bridges to the Gospel.
